Successful insurance claim?

I had my hedge cutting gear nicked on Saturday, an 81r and a stihl combi with hedgecutter head.

Just ordered replacements - £1000 Inc

Now I'm thinking it might have been worth taking out tool insurance after all..

I'm going to get all my gear insured now. Has anyone had their kit knicked and claimed successfully?

My suff was in a customers garden, I left it for 2 minutes to get the fuel and it'd all gone. Obviously I'm wiser after this event but wonder would I have been able to claim for this had I been insured?

Doubt they'd pay out as it wasnt under lock and key. My cousin lost some gear the same way a few weeks back, someone heard him working, he left some gear in the back garden while working out the front and they came in through the neightbours hedge, really low to steal work tools

Think it has to be taken by force or violence, Ive tried to get insurance for this as its the most likely time stuff will get nicked, but with no luck.

As others have said you need to read the small print and see under what conditions it has to be stolen in in order to make a claim.
