Also don't let the customer scalp the lawn!

 

So true. Brits love bowling greens but think scalping is how to get one. I have been asked to look at so many lawns only to literally ask "where is the grass?". They say what do you mean; I say that's moss, not grass...

I wouldn't lay any turf in this heat - it starts to decompose in the rolls hours after its cut and once down you just can't get enough water into it and the roots don't take.

 

 

I did turfing for 3 years and had a couple of disasters when the weather hits 25 degrees +

 

 

Hot weather is great for getting the ground level though....
