Land Rovers and a Bedford MK - what more could you want? Isn't great when work includes days like that?

How does the Bedford handle the timber? I keep trying to persuade my friend to buy one to move the logs around his wood chip site (and then I could borrow it to collect windblow for my fledgling firewood business!!).

It was a good day. The guy who owns the 130 started out as an engineer (38 years ago) before quickly moing into arbwork, and now instucts, lolers etc etc aswell as contracting. The kincab i smade from the truck cab, with the back of a station wagon roof welded(he can weld ali) to it forming a long roof, and cut down to 2 thirds doors. When in the cab you have a large shelf behind you, and from outside it is possible to access a locker that is essentially under the shelf. Really really useful truck.

Thers a lot of history too. It started life as a left hooker- he changed it to a R.H.Drive after the new chassis went in....caused when his daughter (the whole family are tree surgeons) puled out in a 30 zone towing the large chipper, and was broadsided by some london solicitor in a 7 series beemer doing way over the speed limit, and was pushed 9 metres sideways!!!!!!!

King cabs definately the way to go,coverted my 110 CSW to one last year and am well pleased with it.

Mind you I managed to find a radiussed (!) fibre glass section for the rear of the roof ,so keeping the streamlined aerodynamic shape intact !!! just waiting for the sickening crunch when out in the woods.
