im going to go ask the local precision engineering company to machine up a new spindle for it when eryc get their finger out and pay me.

-na, would've take too long in auto crap, I use solidworks.

Nothting wrong with a bit of ms paint.

If you get a new spindle made up, have you thought about modifying the design a bit, i.e. put RH threads on both ends, that way your chucking will work inboard and out... all induction motors single or 3 phase will work in either direction... a really good up great upgrade is speed control- that will also give FWD & REV... check out drives direct

Sorry for the choppy reaply in a rush

Aye solid works is pretty good, not used in a while though!

I am debating modifying it, thoughi m leaning towards 1x8tpi, lh and rh respectivley. as i can get the 1x8tpi duel threaded inserts and face plates easier than the 10tpi.

ben you only have a woodturning chisel ?? lol

:001_tt2:

its the shortest so i made the rack to fit that.

Its exactly the same length as when i bought it! dont think it was new when i got the set mind.

ive got about 15 i think, only really use 5-6 of em though, 1" round, 3/4 square, 3/8 bowl gouge, 1/2 bowl gouge, 3/8 spindle gouge, and a 1" oval skew.

all record, got a set of 12 for 90 quid or so.

I got tired of putting them on the bench and the bastards rolling off!
