dont know how to put up a link but search for 'u-pol clear#1' amazing stuff, flat it down with some 1200 grit wet paper for less gloss finish, aerosol has a fan type spray, i use a 3m mask with this though, the fumes arent good for you!!!!

Some good suggestions on gloss finish, I'll try some out, maybe on the below... (##ray## I used Halfords acrylic gloss lacquer, from a can though)

 

This is a Maple hollow form, amazing timber, with quilting, burr and a little spalting. It currently has no finish applied, just sanded very fine (down to 4000 grit).

 

I'm thinking of applying a blue/grey dye wash then a gloss finish.

 

What do you guys think, to dye or not to dye?

Id agree with that, no dye, just nice natural grain...

No luck on the work front yet, im just volunteering with the BTCV to keep myself busy, though as i cant get expenses its going to come to an end soon i think!

 

I did manage to come by some fresh english oak though today, that will be turned into all sorts, maybe wet or seasoned, im undecided!

 

cheers, took me a while to get the composition right but i think ive got a good-ish set up now.

 

Ive also started a hollowform having been inspired by Flames!
