Just made a little bowl to see if i could! thats about as deep as i can go with out a boring/bowl tool.

also tried a recipe for some sanding sealer that i found on the tinternet. seems to work ok!

Is this lathe any good (I know nothing about them?) wood turning lathe on eBay (end time 17-Jul-10 11:16:12 BST)

 

It's only down the road from me.

 

I've never used that make befor but it looks limited on what diameter you can turn. Record lathes, axminster are good ones. Depends on how much you want to spend really.

and the lid a few hours later! only took 20-30 mins!

For a starter lather i recon that could be good, saves spending alot of money to find you havnt time or skill (no offence intended i duno if youve done it!)

just made these last night for somthingt to do.

 

a tea spoon holder for the kitchen and a little goblet, though not hollowed out yet... ive been doing the hollowing with the roughing gouge and spearpoint as money doenst permit for anything else!

 

how hot do the shavings normally get?
