Think the lux works out at 1.25 cube but i say get whatever you can. When i first started doing it i was selling a transit tipper load for £85. I'd probably want double that now!! Does anyone do bargains for repeat customers. I was supplying a pub last year and they had a ton bag a week. He wants to strike a deal this year. Have told him the wood is going to be £45 a bag this year but will keep his at £40. Thoughts please.....

Depends on what your profit expectations are. If your making a reasonable living out of it then better one in the hand if your not stick to your guns!!

Am not going to make my millions selling wood but the thing is for me that i have got a steady income over the winter so perhaps i should just stick to what i was charging. Problem is that people keep banding phrases round like 'no point being a busy fool' but then on the other hand i have people at home that need feeding!! And i make money i suppose so think i've decided already. Thanks

Depends on the size of the tonne bag. 800x800x800 = approx 1/2 cu metre so £90 a cube is good money. The whole tonne bag idea is great for getting the deserved amount of money out of people with out them realising. I need to get into tonne bags:thumbup1:

I just use regular builders bags. Second hand so recycling as well!! Have been told even if you stacked them in you'd get nowhere near a cubic meter but if you throw them in anyhow there's probably even less than you have worked out. Seems a bit of a con really but it's hard work cutting and splitting unless you have a posh machine, and then i season them in a barn which has to be paid for so money has to be made somewhere doesn't it!! Still if you load them right up the customers eyes normally light up as 'it's a good bag full'!

I much prefer it in the autumn/winter. I find it's pretty easy to earn what i need come the summer due to the light nights and the ability to work as long as i need to whereas in the winter it is harder to come by so as the wood is ready to go i just load it up and off i go. Keeps the money rolling in on those cold dark nights.
