I like your stumpgrinder, but I have to ask, why didnt you just flop the whole tree backwards into the field?

I was unsure of the full extent of decay in the base, and there was a main road and power lines around.

The Decay.

I really really wanted to turn it into habitat sculpture, the owner has been battling with the council to keep the tree for 3 yrs now as his mums ashes were spread around it, so he just gave in and had a full removal. We are back there in a couple of months to plant a line of 6 beech trees on the other side of the field where they can be left forever.

Looks like a good job to get your teeth stuck into Stu. Its a real shame some of it couldn't have been retained. Highways have been pretty keen with there pink crosses just lately.
