In 18 years I think I wasted about 8k on advertising. I spent £200 wisely in £30 chunks and took advantage of free one liners. Moral is dont do it and if you do monitor it closely so you dont do it again.

There are lots of threads on Yell as an advertising medium, almost exclusively around how poor value for money it is. It's a good site for all things relating to running a business covering all areas.

since i got my free listing on yell i have recieved only 4 phonecalls from cutomers, and i get 1-3 per day from advertising people. DONT DO IT

make sure everyone and their dog knows what you do, nowt worse than bumping into a friend or relative and them saying "oh i didn't know you were a tree surgeon, i just had some work done.."

yes thats a good idea i have never bothered to get it done were did i read that some times you might get people knocking on your door ?
