Yale rope eye problem

I'm waiting for some one to moan about the lock stitching.

have they done away with the irritating shroud nigel?? that was always the first thing to come off my yale ropes

 

 

ive took mine off also, if it was a bit awkward to get the eye in the cover would always catch in the gate. i thought it would be a no no but i could only ever see it as more of a hinderance than a help?

its just an extra it of safety i guess, but plenty other rope manufacturers dont bother with it so it cant be too much of an issue
