Great thread and photo's, lovely old vet beech and seeing the climbers gives a good sense of scale, interesting indeed to see how it fares, here's hoping its all good:thumbup1: a very useful case study.

Yes Mat, probably this autumn.

 

Going to have a closer look within the canopy to check on internal shoot growth since the reduction, and also compare the terminal bud scars and extension length against neighbouring beeches.

 

If good, then looking to reduce the '87 poles by another meter or two.
