I have resisted for a very long time. but youv'e got me now, I see stereum everywhere, or think I do. I'm swotting up a bit for monkeys next test.

you will see stereum everywhere, very common, as is the Trametes versicolour, they are probaly the most abundant, fruiting all year round almost.

 

I will do a stereum thread, help you work them out a bit better in your mind, their easy once you get a few things in your head about their habits.

Slugs birds, other fungi, many insects also devour fruit bodies from within, woodlice, rodents its endless. Fungi are a good easily digestable source of food. They drive the whole system, in one way or another. I actualy wonder if all the other kingdoms evolution was not influenced and directed by fungi, and that is not far fetched an idea.
