Heavy thin of upper crown to right hand side and reduction of upper crown. No work at all to mid or lower crown.

 

Just wanted to show that meripilus doesn't always mean instant removal.

Work is still slowly progressing on the African zip line project. They are pooring the floor this week, then need to go up another floor.

 

Hopefully ready to hang the cables later this year

Yeah, I designed it. Originally the clients wanted a tree to tree zipline tour. Trouble is its very flat terrain and there are not such big trees in this part of the reserve. We could have built it in another place but that area was too sensitive to encourage mass tourism.

 

We've come up with a tower to tower zipline tour instead now but its much more expensive to build so progress can be frustraitingly slow.

Started a phased reduction of this old pollard today. Thin and light reduction for now. Photos are before, after and the brash which came off in the morning. Took a similar amount off in the afternoon too so quite a prune.
