What friction hitch do you all prefer to use when climbing!!? :thumbup1:

 

Split-tail with double fisherman's knot and a Blake friction hitch does it for me (just one step up from the good old prussik.

 

The advantages of the Blake over the prussik are:

 

* Adjustable length/position (easier than re-tying the prussik).

* It does not lock up as easily (no need to continually loosen up the friction hitch).

Spliced eye and a helical wrap for me prussik, I used to use the old prussik knot but once i tried the helical i never went back, love that knot, so constant.

 

Do you tie the Helical like th'is, securing it with a (running) bowline? Come Caving with the VPI Cave Club!

 

I'd like to try the Helical, but I don't trust the unsecured bowline...
