echo chainsaws

A local dealer has some really good deals on echo chainsaws at the moment. Has anybody got any experience of using these saws? Do you rate them? What are the power and performance like of the saws?

Are they built to last?

I have run the little tes 270 top handle for a year and love it. It isnt anything like my 200t,but has proved reliable and a joy to use on reductions and conny hedges etc.

I also use one of their blowers,no probs.

Got a flier sent through the post from a firm based in irlam. No web address. Ive bought kit from them in the past and they are OK. £100 of most RRP.

Echo aka Kioritz 2-stroke engines are world class and will always outlast Stihl or Husky engines. Their chainsaws have historically been high on weight and low on power. The current saws in the bigger end (60 cc upwards) are all very bad in this respect with one exception - the new CS-600. This is a very well balanced saw with similar power to the Stihl MS341. I am doing a long term test of a CS-600 so will update accordingly. See the thread "hell of an echo in here".

The next saw up is built like a tank but HORRIBLE to use. CS-510 is alright; better than a MS260 arguably... Can't comment on the topping saws.

top handled are suppose to be good looked at statistics compared with a 020 and there reasonably similar power to wieght about the same but with the added knowlage that its japenses and will last
