If you price coz you don`t want to loose the job, in the long run you end up working too hard for too little. Better to waste the fuel and do sensible pricing than waste your life doing work for little reward.

I know where of i speak.

i can see where your coming from but i wasnt priceing it so i would get the job, i priced it low as i could because it was such a small job. would feel guilty asking for more on that job. tricky to price little jobs unless you have a few you can group together.

I know how you feel

Second I done a neighbours hedge easy stuff just do the top then the other nieghbour came out and said how much for you to just do the side of a 15-20 metre hege I said 15 quid I was almost out of fuel so theres a fiver to get some more and then 10a for what would of been half hours work and she said no and said she was shocked I didnt bother explaining why then felt guilty then just thought that If I had done it for any less I would of been so annoyed at working for so little

What would you guys of done there, was that to much? should I of explained? Should I have jsut done it at a cheaper rate?

Older and possibly wiser, but i would now rather price it as it should be priced.

If you get the job, happy days. If you dont, stay at home, light the barby and have a couple of beers- you earned the same as if you priced it low!

The unfotunate part of your type of pricing is that it encourages a downward spiral generally for everyone

possibly are older and wiser, but i would rather be out and about getting my name known, than sitting at home twiddling my thumbs. i dont want to get a reputation for ripping people off for small jobs cause alot of bread and butter stuff is small stuff. as for makeing the downward spiral i phoned up my mate who has company in same area for some advice, he said for jobs like that i would charge 100quid so i did.

I totally know where you`re coming from, sometimes you look at something and think its only really worth £50 tops. Its just a learning thing :001_smile:
