lock up tool chest

I need a secure locking chest to bolt to a concrete floor keep my saws in at night.

I have had a quote from a fabricator of £370 plus vat for a 5' x 3' x 2' box in 2mm steel with a full length internal hinge and two locking points. It would be exactly what I want but its a bit more than i want to spend right now.

Does anyone know of somewhere that sells or builds them cheaper, or have one to sell?

I would be prepared to go a bit smaller on the dimensions but it must be heavy duty.

Thats a pretty good price... Your only chance of cheaper would be to get a good second hand one.

I thought it was fairly keen. Just a bit short of cash to spend that much on a lock box.

How about one of the van safe boxes, you know the ones that people fit to the bulk head of tippers for tool storage. Would that be big enough?

Thats what the one on ebay is. Its a bit small but it would do, but I'm not sure how strong they are. I might just go and have a look at it.

van vault 4 sites are pretty good, this is what i want to get for mine, will just take the bars off, i know its a pain but it means you re tighten everything before starting it in the morning!

I've had a Sentri van box mounted on the front of my trailer for a couple of years now, do have to take bars of the bigger saws, but at least the units are safer.

Dont waste your money mate, get a good ground anchor ans lock n chain, bolt and anchor the lot to the floor - its the way forward ! Once people see a big box they cant wait to get into it !
