I rather like what you have done Chris. It's uncluttered and is easy to navigate through. I think the majority of your customers will find it user friendly and they can get to the information they want fairly easily. Through time you can build up the library of images.

As a suggestion, perhaps rather than saying on the home page that you 'aim to provide a high quality service.....', you should be more positive and say 'you provide a high quality service'?? Also, perhaps say on home page which geographical areas you will do work in. 50 mile radius of County Durham?? Or work carried out in County Durham, Yorkshire, Cumbria?? I don't know how far you would travel to do work.

It would add a bit of interest to the pages if you had a photograph inserted in the area where the google ads currently are, once you get rid of those.

Can't stress enough though about registering the domain name. This should be one of the first things that you do, even before building the site......hope you've done it now :001_smile:

Good luck with it all

I would just be echoing these words, but i would add that you should try talking in the third person rather than I use CNC little thingsa like that CNC will only hire qualified experienced staff etc

ok after some helpful advice and a bit of a panic i have secured the domain name for cnctreeservices.co.uk

steve you were right, that 123 site you linked to only cost £7 for 2 years including VAT, obviously well worth getting, naively it never occured to me that people would go around pinching domain names (i know its not really pinching but you know).

now i just need to work on removing the ads (although none appear to be for my area)

hamadryad- do you mean reffering to myself for example- CNC operate in.... Contact CNC for a free quote... etc? i was going to word it like this but wasnt sure if it sounded a bit impersonal, if you know what i mean?

cheers for all the tips so far guys

Did you consider using the free website offer from Getting British Business Online

It is based on http://sites.google.com and has been discussed in this thread: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/14559-free-web-site.html

I think that is a great deal, and integration to Google Analytics, Google Adwords etc is very simple.

I would't list NPTC certs especially if you don't have the nessasary have a look at my site if you like what you see you could have a word with my missus she is now doing a open uni course after enjoying building mine you may be able to strike up a deal

Good advice about the lack of quals.

Spikey, your site is a 'Do at home' free template job as well. Much better imo getting a proper site running off proper css and html by a web designer.
