conservation areas

hi i have a job come up in a conservation area first one iv done i always phone the tree officer to make shore off tpo etc. iv bin told by the home owner they live in a conservation area keep trying to get hold off the tree officer but cant all the tree is a sycamore growing through telephone cables about 18inch round at the base and they want it removed just wondered if someone can give me a bit off advice on the whole conservation area thing thanks for any help anyone can give me martin

You need to inform the council of your intentions (in writing), they have the right to put a TPO on any tree in a C/A.

 

You should hear back from them as to whether they intend to put a TPO on or not, if you have not heard from them after 8 weeks you are clear to crack on (so long as you are sure they got it) but IME they always get back to you well before the 8 weeks are up.

i had one in bristol a large horse chestnut to fell when i started it, t.o. came out flapping around and demanded we stopped work saying permission was not obtained.

had laptop on site and logged on to planning portal website to show it had been granted 12 months ago.

even he was gob smacked by it so now check all consents at regular intervals

better safe than sorry
