I'm not 100% sure whether its a 16 strand or a double braid.

Is the core made up of several strands twisted together, or it is like another braided rope inside the cover?

i've never tried but i wouldn't bother.... it's a pretty hard fibre that splills out when cut.

It's NOT 16 strand

Kernmantle, so double braid, kind of, maybe a similar splice to the Fly?

I agree with Jamie, don't bother, I used to climb on this rope and it's pretty bad stuff, struggles to hold a knot and gets very stiff in a very short time.

beal stuff usually comes with stitched eyes which tells you a lot:thumbup:

certainly not a rope to learn splicing

peter-yes it is several twisted strands.. and indeed its tough as an old boot,as well as having been climbed for a couple years :001_huh:

maybe itl go in the wash then straight on to fleabay
