cool pics, dave can you talk me through yor 3 in 1 set up please, i see the pulley and friction hitch which i get, then i see the tail end heading back up to the tree through another crab and pulley??

 

 

Stevie, the tail end is through an ISC Rope grab, then back via a petzl fixed pulley attached to steel screw gate.

 

Use this as a zip for light branches as in the shots on post 9, and also for assisted fells.

depends on where your drop zone is, on the first shots on the Oak dismantle, the zip was set to get the branches up to the path toward the anchor.

The grab was set on the anchor side of the path, allowing to lower the brash down on to the path.

thats the pic that through me, i couldnt see why you would have the grab so far away from the anchor:001_smile:

 

is it to give you a lot of range to save you moving the grab?
