Fransguard winch problem

Hi

We have a Fransguard single drum winch and it is constantly chewing up cables. They kink and fray, the kinks get so bad that you can only get about 1/3 of the cable out by hand befor it needs to be pulled out with a jolt from the tractor. Sometimes you can't even get that much out. It started off when we used nylon core cable and Fransguard blamed that for the problem as it gets squashed. They sent us some steel cable which i can't remember how think and some may strands are in it, but that frays and jams too.

Any idea whats wrong with the thing? We just can't afford to replace it.

Thanks

Andy

I have a Fransguard and have had no problems, it pulls really well.

Its a solid bit of kit pulls well its just started chewing up cable it's on its 3rd in 2 years now i think. I wish we had the double drum version though and also one without a bit of rope to pull to reel in logs.
