hi looking to replace my saws that some kind people relieved me of a few weeks ago, does anyone have any experience of the ms341. Had a coupleof husky254 before great saw but hate the 357 replacement, saw to be used for hedgelaying as well as general tree work, never used them so any feedback would be useful before purchase, cheers

i have one and i think its a great saw....although a standard shop floor model i found to be very sluggish. i changed from 3/8th ti 3/25 pitch with a 9 tooth sprocket....this transformed the saw completely.

i have a 254xp and a 346xpg, tbh i prefer the 346 over the 254 for most things now, they are a very good smooth fast saw, if you like the 254 try a 346!

 

im sorry i know this doesnt answer your question, but i find the 346 great for hedgelaying, and smaller logging work, I just finished the last bit of hedgelaying for this year today, now just got to tidy up all the brash!

 

I am not trying to start a husky v stihl thread, but try and get a demo of both before you decide, and see which you feel most comfortable with

got a 341 in december, its a good saw and seems capable but its always snatched up by laddo first cos its shiny so i cant say i've used it that much.

Hopefully insurance pay up next week so have some time to try out before going out with a large shopping list

Can someone tell me - what does the Stihl 341 offer exactly? Whilst it is roughly £60 cheaper than a 361 it's power to weight ratio is thoroughly behind the latter??? Kinda like 240 vs 260; always assumed the latter was the obvious choice...

the 361 is conciderably faster than the 341. i have a 341 and think its a great little saw, just been replaced by my new 441 which im going to use as my everyday saw. but for the price difference the 361 is a far faster cutting .

 

but you were asking about the 341. good saw, wouldnt run an 18" on it as it would be far too slow for anything.

15" with the 3/8" chain is what i have on mine and i find it to be a great little saw. doesnt compare to the 254 though.
