Been using an oil stone for years that is until yesterday when I bought one of these from Axminster tool centre. Bloody excellent, I tried it out on an old and very blunt Opinel and after a dozen strokes it was razor sharp again and ready to slot bunnies. £10.35 inc vat and worth every penny.

i use a burgon and ball pocket sharpening steel which looks a bit like a pen. puts a really good edge on most things with just a few strokes.

i use a whitley sharpening stone, its about 3 inches long by about an inch wide, it sharpens like nothing ive ever used and is fast too. works different tho, whilst sharpening you basicly try to take a controlled slice off the stone which i found odd but it works. this stone cost me about 2 quid
