bulk bag weight

just had a customer wanting to know t:confused1:he weight of a bulk bag of ash logs, anyone got any idea??

tell him the lighter the better-seasoned wood is lighter than wet green wood, logs should be sold by volume for this reason

It sounds like your customer has been offered or priced logs "per ton"

 

Tell them there is no such thing as a ton of logs unless there is a specified species and moisture content.

I've got builders bags hand packed with ash split out of a winter felled stem of around 3 foot D.

 

My little digger would easilly handle them,so i reckon on 250 Kg/bag.

It would struggle to lift my welding set at 400kg.Clearly I cant use it

for lifting operations so this is an educated guess.

What size bulk bag?

What size logs?

How dry?

Overflowing or filled a few inch from top?

2 cubic metres loose mixed logs - fresh cut - weighed 900 kg on a weigh bridge

 

a standard bulk bag 80cm x 80cm x 80cm is 0.512 cubic metres and when filled with these logs would weigh about 225kg

this thread reminds me of a customer ringing for a price to cut a tree down.i said,id have to call round to see it and give her the price[free quotation].she said...cant you give me a price over the phone,so i said,how big is it,she replied...oh its quite big.is it as big as me i asked.she replied..i think it is,so i said to her...how big do you think i am,she said im not sure...exactly...goodbye.
