Yes, I find it stressful. I dont want to hoard saws but I just want something that will work that your not having plug in to a laptop to fix. I dont want to be forced into battery powered stuff,  it doesn't sit well with me .

Im trying not to hoard to much  but im also finding going to dealers miles away or dealers not carrying stock any more -we will order in when asked for it .

Also alot of the independent small people who carried stock dont exist any more , so no going down the road  to pick one up.

You've only now got the big three or in my case two as I only like husqvarna and echo , efcos newer saws are made in China

But I dont want a load of saws ,just to be able to get a saw that feels compatible with me, does a days work , and is safe.

New saws are better than old saws.

Almost certainly true....however nothing beats nostalgia.

My old 66 would outshine a 661..... in my head yes because we have no memory of true pain.
The aches and pains from the weight, vibes.

Interesting thread. Hopefully I've not derailed.

I have a few oldies, a husky 288 which is pretty poky to be fair, an 066 which I sold a few years back, which still annoys me.

I had a Stihl 076 100cc, sounded great but a bit slow in the cut truth be told.

Still running an 066 here. Thing comes out a few times a year, does the job, hard to justify the money on a new replacement. One thing that would be better is the filter, the 066 and the 461 air filter get clogged up with dust double quick. My 550xp never needs attention in that department.
