Rather large Horse Chestnut

Me and the misses found this little belter not long back over Scarborough way, thought i would share it with everyone. I've not climbed it yet but i am planning to.

not that i have seen many but this is biggest one i have seen, any challengers?

big chessy, i took one down about 5 years ago that was a monster, it was a single stem with monster limbs, maybe about the size of your one, the base laughed at the botex thats for sure. the biggest tree i was involved in was a chesy, honestly it was twice the size of yours, i never climbed it but got to deck the trunk, the timber filled 2 40ydr skips, the one with the trunk tipped over in the guys yard it was so top heavy. good find mate, were there any signs of infection?

i would of like to of seen that must have been huge (take it you dont have any pics) and in terms of infection nothing that i could see which is good, there was another chestnut about 30yard away not as big and that wernt showing anything either.

Whereabouts is that?

 

Forge Valley maybe, some big trees down there.

 

I wouldn't want to cut that up.

 

Imagine all those main forks on the trunk a foot deep and grown in with stones where kids have thrown them up to knock conkers off for the last umpteen years! :001_tongue:

good shout forge valley not far from east ayton, its about 30yard from seavegate road. where abouts you bases then?
