As per title.

I’ve had everything to bits, cleaned and blown everything and fiddled around to try and make sure the contact plate on the switch is working, but no joy yet.

What can I do next?

Using a multimeter on Ohms, with the heater disconnected from the saw, check the resistance of the heater element. If it is zero or infinte, the element is likely blown. Im unsure what specific voltage it runs at but would expect a resistance between 0.5 to 100 Ohm to indicate its good.

Multimeter set to voltage (could be DC but probably AC on this) check if there is a voltage output on the wires going to the heater. If that is zero, you can try with a known good power source, of similar like a car battery connected to the heater element to see if it heats up.

Thanks Kram.

I’ll have to learn how the system actually works.

I’m not sure where the element is tbh!

Good excuse to buy a new multimeter as well, my old one packed in ages ago and I never replaced it.

They are bloody cheap now!

Probably cheaper than I paid 20 years ago.
