So i have recently gotten back into climbing as a subby, based in Edinburgh. Previously, i lived in a semi detached house with a couple lads, with plenty room to dry kit and access to a courtyard that also worked for airing stuff.

I now live in a top floor flat with my girlfriend, with less room, more issues with ventilation, and a lack of space. As well as opposition to drying dirty arb kit in the flat. She is also a climber, so does understand the issue to a degree, but she's employed and has a yard to keep and dry her kit.

I am just looking to see if anyone else lives in a flat and has a winning solution to this predicament, or any tips they've found works well. Cheers folks 👍

I've had a couple of top floor flats - one in Edinburgh - both had a loft hatch - wonder if yours might have the same and some loft space you can access?

What solutions there might could also depend if you are renting or the owner (ie can you change anything in the flat)

Last thing... flat - modern? 60s style or tenement? Tenements for example might have the clothes drier hanging rack in the kitchen... something similar might work with high ceiling elsewhere in the flat for climbing stuff

plus a dehumidifier?

I use a dehumidifier in my small bathroom. Even with a full load of washing, everything is bone dry by 6am when put out about 10pm. It’s also toasty warm when putting them on in the morning. It was about £80 and is easy on electricity.
