Question

Posted

Hello,

So I have a massive oak tree in my back yard.

I removed some of the ivy that was growing up it and I was hoping I didn’t do any damage but some bark may have come off?

What is the general consensus on this tree? It is obviously super old. I just would worry it can fall over anytime and hit my house… is that realistic?

Thank you!IMG_7376.thumb.jpeg.ea5e4705957049cc5fdb82141c279b7c.jpegIMG_7373.thumb.jpeg.d328811da65a7df5a46012d2bbce0ac4.jpegIMG_7386.thumb.jpeg.d8bcad0fcadcb58670ed22cb97d38200.jpeg

Tree won't even notice that smidge of damage from ivy removal.

If your house is the white building in the background it looks from the pics that it won't even come close if it fell in that direction.

same tree different day.

if it bothers you so much you have to ask the same question every week or so, maybe you would rest easier if it were felled.

Some types of post come up like this . Dunnow why but its a thing . They always seem to start with the original post rather than continue on like most posts . Steve Bulman might be able to explain .  @Steve Bullman

I'm not yet convinced it's a real person.

a follow up post would give some feedback on the advice previously given,ie; get somebody local to check it out,and the results of the inspection, this is just the same post, now apparently with ivy removed?? must be fast growing ivy ,it wasn't mentioned in the original post.

anyway gotta go, I'm asking  somebody in Borneo about removing moss from my patio.;)
