To be fair, non-midline wouldn’t put me off.

It’s just handy now and then.

 

Is the Japanese climber Woodenhand?

 

I’ve climbed on the bone Gordon, and really rated it.

Why is this better?

Not Paul,  I think they have interacted, perhaps in the seminars Paul and Eric had years ago for Japanese climbers.  My favorite remains the Bulldog Bone, and the Japanese climber embellishes the Bones for other climbers and uses at least two for his own use (think two ropes).  The OAR actually predates the Bulldog Bone  (and an early OAR inspired Jamie on his own path to the Akimbo).  I took this up again specifically at the request of the climber who wants it.
