Hello,

Been asked to give a price for mowing roughly 100,000 square meters of mixed grass, some sloped banks, open playing fields, roadside verges and greens in residential areas for the local housing authority, wondering if anyone has any experience with this as most of my work is on private estates, what realistically can i get per square meter working for someone like this is it worth doing or will it be pennies?

Yeah 3-4p was around what i was expecting for bigger areas with a ride on. got no documentation about it apart from the conversation I had with the guy running the show last week.

He did mentioned a lot of garden mowing and a assisted living complex for the elderly. from memory of I'd say all of witch would be 21" push mowed and around 25m² gardens how would that be priced as £1/garden needs a awful lot ot gardens in an hour to be worth while, and a few spots mentioned I know of are small verges in estates that would take longer to unload start and reload the 21" than do the mowing itself would all this still just come under 3-4p/m² and you've just gotta take it as it comes?

3-4 p is for a sports field with gang mower and tractor. the garden mower (you want a self-propelled) £1 a minute. slopes/ banks depend how steep they are as you might need a suitable mower to do them or even strim them

Strimming the same? £1/min?

And are strips at the side of the road maybe 1-2 passes with the ride on wide,  still at the same rate of sports fields 3-4p/m²
