Tree trunk section?

Hi there 👋

Newbie alert (meaning I’m not sure where to actually post this!!) 

I’m looking for a piece of tree trunk approx 1.5 foot high that I can use next to the mud kitchen (for my grandchildren) on my allotment plot. My plan is to put a camping water dispenser with a tap on it to add to their play. 
If anyone can help (or point me in the right direction) I’d  be happy to pick up if it’s in the Leeds area 😊 🪵 🪓

Give a few tree surgeons in your area a call or a text, you'll definitely stumble upon one eventually who, like me, will gladly go out of their way to provide something like that for kids to enjoy.

 

Edit: You'll inevitably get some moody gits too, but you might soften them with the offer of beer, money, or other trade.

Thank you I have messaged a couple but theyve not got back to me so can only assume they’re super busy. I’ll keep trying though 😊

They’ll be busy during the day, probably still off loading tools and getting ready for the morning. I may check messages during the day but only reply to urgent ones. If you were near us you could have your pick - I have supplied dozens to a couple of forest areas in schools locally for the kids to use as seats, woodchips to cover the mud, logs for burning, pine cones for education etc. never asked for anything in return but did get some chocolates from the kids at one school 😁

Tipped a skip load of chip in a playground today for a nursery school, the woman came and asked for it to put on the muddy areas.

 

@Hel66, you could try asking firewood suppliers. If they process their own logs they should have bits in their yard that would suit you.
