Fs461 and fs460

Does anyone know if the gear heads on the fs460 is the same as fs461

The gear head will fit but the thrust washer and plate are different, the 460 has a spline shaft whereas the 461 has an oval shaft. Pic of the thrust plate

The deflector guard is also different.  I had a machine in not that long ago where they had a 461 head on a 460.

I have a clearing saw blade on my fs461 and on my fs460 I have a Mulcher blade but it’s a pain in the arse taking 2 machines so do you think I can put the 460 head on the 461 just so I dont have to swap guards and just swap the heads

Taking two machines gives you a backup option though…

Yes, they use the same drive shaft and drive tube. Just undo the pinch bolt and swap the whole thing over including the guard.
