Have you practiced applying it? I have an Israeli bandage in my kit, I'm fairly confident I could wrap myself up successfully with a leg injury, but if I'm applying it one-handed to an arm wound, my plan is to enjoy the view and bleed out.

😂yeah I have practiced it but that is a good reminder to have a bit of a refresher.

I also appreciate the tip I got off YouTube about taking it out of the packaging when when you buy it because the bandage itself is inside yet more packaging.

Wotcha

The visor on my Vertex Vent is now more hole than mesh. Still got a few more years on the lid itself, and Petzl lids fit my skull just fine so I'll probably stick with them, even though I'll never look as cool as the Protos crew.

I was just going to replace the MSA Sordin it came with, but is there anything to be said for the Hellberg below? Looks a bit clunkier, chunkier, but more durable...

Any other visor recommendations, compatible with Petzl Vertex?

I recommend buying two of the sordin ones, if you just buy one it's going to get a hole in but if you have a spare in the cupboard it'll never get used. I have the wire ones rather than nylon but not sure it's that important.

The hellberg seems like you lose peripheral vision.

That was my exact second question!  Does seem like you'd be more susceptible to ninjas sneaking up on you and such. I was hoping someone with first hand experience could quell my fears.

Might just stick with the skinny ones, I have no complaints about them.

Weirdly I find the nylon ones outlast the wire mesh ones.

I’d stick with the Sordin as well.

It looks like you could weld with the Hellberg one.

You'd need to add the safety squint too, just to be sure.

Well I've just killed a wire one, maybe I'll get the nylon this time and race them.
