Looking to replaced & fit a new cylinder/pistol kit to my 346xp, grey clutch cover version . Seems to be 44mm bore judging by the id marks.

Any recommendations for a decent supplier ?

Rebuilt my 346xp (2013 with grey clutch cover) a couple of years ago using a Meteor cylinder and piston. Ordered from Garden Hire Spares online as L&S Engineers only had genuine items at a fair bit more money. It’s done a fair bit of work on the Meteor kit and runs really well. Good luck 👍

Hi Spud,

The saw was increasingly hard to restart once hot, eventually to the point it refused too. Not great compression & just didn't sound right on pull over at that point, bit clunky.

Stripped it down and the piston is scored badly on the exhaust side & the ring almost fused in the slot on 1 side.

The cylinder doesn't look as bad to be fair.

I missed the response, as previously mentioned, if the plating is not scored through, clean the bore up chemically, abrade the oxide off, lightly hone/rub the bore with wet and dry and then fit a new piston.

Just be aware that the OEM bore is an odd 44.3mm so the replacement piston needs to be the same and not 44mm or 45mm.
