My son and i made this from willow wands. Made a great useful little boat

That's brilliant, we had coracles one scout camp. Initially feel really wobbly but are actually surprisingly stable and hard to tip someone out if they don't want to go.

Yes this one was number 2.We made one the summer before and it was a heroic failure other than some cracking footage of me upside down in the river😄.

We learned some lessons and put it into practice on this one and it was altogether better. They are a very underated craft but are really practicle ideal on quiet stretches of water for mooching about.

Not sure on the exact weight but easy to carry, We made a chest strap out of a bit of seatbelt which made it far more portable

Is it covered with painted canvas?

Its heavy weight callico and painted with bitumous emulsion from the builders merchant.

The paddle looks similar to some stilts I made for The boys from pallet stringers.
