Identification from bark pattern

Hi and thanks in advance for any help. 
 

could anybody identify what tree this is from. 
 

I’ve had a look about online but only became more confused so it may be obvious and a daft question but could anybody identify this and if possible arise of a good website or app I can use to aid in future identification

The amount of lichen growing on that makes it difficult to see any actual bark. Could be Ash, though.

That's a truly impressive amount of Lichen for, what looks like, a small branch. Good to see and quite beautiful. It could also be Sycamore, for my money.

 

We need more visual clues I think. Got any photos of leaves?

So , My Rowan plays 1 ash and 1 sycamore . Any others ? 🙂

Well, you could throw Beech into the ring as well.

will see  if i can get some more photos, its from a large tree thats been felled amongst others due to a renewal of some water mains,  so theres not alot of remaining leaves,but a large amount of various sized branches
