Relocating to West Wales from Canada looking for work as a Tree Surgeon

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, currently living in BC, Canada. Recently we (my wife and I) talk a lot about relocating to Wales, to be closer to her aging parents and have our kids growing up with their grand parents. I am well aware that financially it would make more sense to stay here in BC and work as an Arborist, but there are decisions in life that don't just focus on money and that would be one for us.
Long story short, I am looking to find a potential employer that would go through the process of sponsoring me through the skilled worker visa program.
Is anyone in this group a business owner in the Carmarthenshire area and surroundings or do you know anyone who is?
Trying to figure out my best ways to immigrate and that would be one of them.
A bit of info about me: 42 years old, working in tree business for 5 years, climbing for 3 years(srs and mrs), small and big removals, rigging, chipper, saws, run my own small company here, have some experience in rope access work (not tree related) from Germany, where I am from originally.
Looking forward to all pointers into the right direction.
Thanks a lot

I'd speak to the UK consulate in BC, as I'm guessing you're wife is still dual citizen or you are EU/Canadian.

Might be easier than you think as it's within the commonwealth. Probably don't even need a sponsor.

Does your wife work? She can move 'home' on the assumption that she is British. Before you move I'd recommend you get dual nationality just in case you want to go back again. You having Canadian nationality - a pain and an expense - might make a move a lot easier.

If she works and earns enough to support you then you should be able to move OK, but as above have a chat with the officials, it might surprise you what you need to do.

My wife can be in the UK, no problem as she holds her British Citizenship, I have German Citizenship and soon potentially Canadian. Where do you get the info from that from a  Commonwealth Country it's easier

She won't be working as we have 2 young kids. We might be able to find a way to show the amount of money in her bank account that is needed as a proof that she can support me.

That would be our second option to finding a company that hires me with a contract to.proof that I earn enough so I can get my work permit.

There are lots of small tree companies here in west Wales most are pretty good. Which area were you thinking?

Her family lives around St Clears, west of Carmarthen. So anywhere around there would be great as this will be were we would stay when we arrive.

This may be an option.

When I moved to Norway I came in initially as an EU Citizen with the right to work.  Brexit hadn’t happened at that point.  There was so much bureaucracy and BS that in the end I came in as the Father of a repatriated family.

My girlfriend was Norwegian and both our kids were Norwegian citizens and had Norwegian Passports.  Dual citizenship actually.

Maybe there is a similar option for yourself?  Initially you are an EU citizen from Germany.  Although the UK isn’t in the  EU anymore your wife is a British citizen.

So she should be allowed to move back, no problem - with you as the husband and father of the kids.

Good look with the move.
