entec dh 30

Hi my entec 30 dh chipper has an intermittent problem, will be working fine but very occasionally when its started again put to full revs the rollers wont turn.

I go through various checks ie throttle on full,

disconnect  the hydraulic control from the red hand bar so can move the hydraulic control by the leaver by hand in case bar got bent.

This is one of the first entec chippers it has stress control but no electric control or stop start reverse buttons its all done on the red bar push forward rollers stop pull bar back rollers reverse.

Check a bit of wood has not jammed the rollers

dont find anything wrong but start engine and rollers start again as if nothing is wrong

It sounds to me that the chipper is on full revs as I know if revs fall rollers stop. but without a rev counter cant be 100%. air filter is clean

I did clean the white mark that the stress control pick up senses, it was pretty dirty

Am now wondering what this yellow wire is that is connected to the cooling system, could it be some sort of over heat rollers stop?

chipper was ok when we finished today but would like to solve this issue

Any ideas

Yellow should be 1 wire thermostat.

Personally I'd go with fuel filters first, then more likely a weak hydraulic pump or motor as that things probably done more hours than triggers broom.

Plus it's an old Kubota, they are pretty much bullet proof and will run almost till death.

I think I will change the filters, but like Triggers broom pretty much everything including the hydraulic pump and rollers have been changed, well it is 27 years old
