Fitting truck body

Recommended Posts

Got one to pick ter brains have a iveco daily tipper and a body off of a Isuzu to fit so the main rails on the new body don't line up with the iveco chasis but the lugs do the man I got it off said it would be okay to just drill into the chasis and bolt it down as he had it on a newer shape iveco but I would like to lift it by 50mm at least was thinking of laying 50mm box section between the body and chasis anyone got any other thoughts how to make it stonger or something easier.

Used to make body lift kits 2 inches or so high out of polyproplene or something like that. Basically plastic round bar with a hole in it for the bolt to go through.

That was on L200s/Hiluxes etc.

Box section might be liable to folding in on it's self under big loads unless it is very heavy walled.

Yeah I know what you mean not bad idea I was thinking of using 3mm thick box section to lay along the length of chasis to lift and strengthen then bolt through the new mounts straight through the box section to the chassis surely will be strong enough

Aye. Exactly the one, you could even buy your own plastic and drill them out like a 14mm hole 9/16ths if you are ancient.

Cheap nylon will definitely absorb water as well. Cannot for the life of me remember what exactly I used as it was 7-8 years ago since I used to sell them.

If you want to use steel or ally spacers beware they DO create road noise. Like a hum when going down the road, especially the steel ones.
