Hs82rc / Hs82t blade swap

Hi . Think this has been asked before.  It might've actually been me asking it. 

Can you straight swap stihl hs82 rc and hs82t blades?

From memory you can, but the blade speed will then be incorrect for the blade design, as the gearing if different for a hedge cutter than its is for the hedge trimmer model and vice versa. You will also need to change over the gearing.

I think pleasants bang on the money there.the reg /r has a larger tooth gap and lower/slower gearing speed-designed to do more rugged,hard back cutting.Where the t/trim version is designed to run faster and do lighter cut work at faster speeds.

Yes....I was asked to do this last year when a customer had both models, and ran into said issues. Cost him more than expected in the end.
