Unknown hedge cutter

Recommended Posts

It looks very similar to a Kawasaki KHT600S hedge trimmer which was an excellent machine before they were discontinued under the Kawasaki badge but live on under the Mountfield name. Only problem I ever has was the spark arrestor screen getting fouled up with carbon due to using too much two stroke oil in the mix.

I'll try to remember to take more pictures tomorrow

For completeness here are photos of the carb and coil, now that @pleasant has identified it I am not rushing to delve into the innards. It does seem to have a spark screen but I have not yet managed to hook it out through the silencer.mitoxcarb1.thumb.jpg.2d4dd47fc9a7208d4379df35bf31d09b.jpghedgecuttercoil.thumb.png.eed3bbc6e9ab1c46f645690414b9894d.png

In your top photo. To the left of where the throttle cable attaches is the black plastic 'butterfly' I was referring to in my earlier post. In the brass centre (if it has one) will be a minute plastic top hat shaped plug which will need removing to access the slot to adjust the fuel setting. It may already be missing as I suspect someone has already been at it, as you stated it has an oregon plug fitted. That isnt original....they came with chinese Torch branded plugs from factory. Someone may have already removed the plug. However IF there is some sealer in the hole then there is no adjustment in that area.
