Eucalyptus Tree dying off after pollarding??

Question

A year January I had my huge beautiful Eucalyptus tree reduced due to being to close to house.

Sadly, it seems to be dying off.

I may have made a mistake in allowing it to have such a harsh reduction..

Anyone hopeful that it may recover this year ?

Many thanks!

Interesting

Seems they never heard of the idea/info thats its no longer regarded as best practice?

It doesn't appear to be detrimental though, based on my quite limited observations. The climate probably helps - short, hot, dry summers and long freakin' cold, dry winters. Not very condusive to fungi and other wood eating organisms. But that begs the question, why even bother with masonry work on trees?
