I dont wish to be harsh, but you need to get physically stronger if you're going to do this job. If you tire after a couple of cuts on a course, how will you manage a full days felling? I would suggest that the assessor had made a decision early on in your 31, watching the way you generally handle the saw, how safely you operate it, and decided maybe that you werent quite ready to go into the big wide world weilding a saw. Dont be put off by my comments, just practise all you've been taught, try out different saws so you get some confidence and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck next time:thumbup1:

ovoiusly it wasn't your time, get more practice in and take your time because an assessor is in a hurry doesn't mean you have to be. The assessor is also wrong for not letting you have breaks when needed as there is a fine line when your diabetic, i personally would have gone for a break and told him.

Good luck for next time and take it easy:001_smile:

To be fair I'm not used to this but willing to "get in there"...

I had managed a full week though, which I thoroughly enjoyed, after stopping and "topping up" every hour and a half or so I'd been fine too... For me and my instructor I'd done really well :thumbup1:

I appreciate the comments, but just feel as if I was a little "hurried" and didn't think it was fair using the saw I was given with a heavily worn down chain...

The assessor tried to get one of the 260's I'd been using but couldn't get into the lockup to get one out...

The college/school I went to said when I phoned them they'd get me back within two weeks though and make sure I had the saw I'd been trained with to do a couple of straight fells and get me passed...

No worries, taken on board ;)

what age are you omniata?

29...

Gutted for you, having just spent the week doing my training I know how you feel. We have been told we will have the same saws (ms260) and to take our time with cuts, etc.

Ultimately, its just two trees if you get it right. you should be able to grab fluid when you need it, as long as its safe to do so.

Being "saw fit" takes time, Im a skinny bugger so kinda understand how it feels at the end of the day.
