Hi all. I’m kind of new to this. I run my own gardening business but I’m also a qualified tree surgeon, I want to start taking in more tree work but would like

some advice, as im aware Public liability insurance is different among other things. 
any advice would be great.

Just call a broker and answer their questions. How many m high you will be working, what tickets you have etc.

An insurance broker. They will find you the cheapest insurance for the cover you need.

 

There's nothing that you legally need to do to be a tree surgeon. Just price a few small tree jobs and work up (pun intended).

Oh ok I understand, what about tippers,  Chippers etc equipment is what I mean.

Why not start by asking for a quote from your current insurance.

I’m current insurance covers me for 14 meters but that’s only for pruning and removing dead limbs etc

You'll need CS41 for dismantles......

As Gareth says, ask your current insurers, they should be able to add equipment insurance onto your current policy. Tipper insurance is cheaper through phoning around
