We sold our North Sea oil rights. Gone. Norway created a sovereign wealth fund with theirs and reap the benefits to this day. 

The oil fund is probably one of the largest hindering factors in Norways social development. 

 

Imagine a rich kid with trillions in assets,blowing his allowance on horse racing and crypto safe in the knowledge next month a new check will appear in the mail.

 

The oil fund ironically subsidises alot of the renewable energy initiatives here,that's really a " jobs for the boys" program, much like the 50% subsidiary on electric vehicles which served to only increased the sale of Teslas 400%.

 

Despite being one of Europe's leafiest country's, Norway imports the bulk of its firewood because Labour costs here are to prohibitive .
