Mind I agree with Paul ecoplugs about now prior to felling and leaf fall may be more effective, much as I dislike them.

My old bosses modus operandi to the letter.

We kept a tub of the ammonium sulfamate in the transit.

Derry Watkins (who died in 2007 aged 71) probably carried this practice over from his time at Southern Tree Surgeons, Crawley/Horsham branch where he work for a long time before starting out on his own, probably around the mid 70s, so there’s likely a link

No not the same but it must have been widespread because I came across a RHS trained guy using it in the 9os
