Installing 8mm cord into DMM thimble

I hope this is the right section to post this. So my DMM steel thimble cord used as part of Tefuelberger Pulley Saver failed LOLER. So rather than spend £70 on a whole new one, I thought I'd save a bit and just put new 8mm cord into the original steel thimble.

Does anyone know a method for getting it in. It's so tight, I can't push the cord into the hole. Is there a special tool I need to use?

Thanks

If its the original thimble from the pulley saver I think it's 7mm (ocean dyneema rather than ocean polyester).

Weird that that part of the pulley saver failed a LOLER inspection as its just used for retrieval and shouldn't be particularly high wear. Did you nick it with a saw?

Depends on configuration, the thimble loop can absolutely be a piece of life support though and it's definitely correct for it to be LOLER'd. You're right though, it's a thinner cord, might even be 6mm ocean dyneema, it also has a 2 year lifespan rather I believe.

Never seen this configuration before! I should read the instructions more.

Guess @wjotner could buy a replacement thimble loop?
