In the past I have used a company called East Kent Training (nr dover) for my lads chainsaw training.

In the past they have done both CS30,31 on a five day course then pay to be assessed.

(One course fee - and one assessment)

BUT NOW they want to do a 2 day course (CS30) then assessment.

Then CS31 4 day course then ANOTHER assessment.

This has almost doubled the cost of the course which I had a guy on two years ago.

......Is this now the norm to do it in two stages???

And does anyone know of anyone who can provide the same service (CS30,31) in south east kent???

My old boss use to hire in assessors for cs38 30 & 31.

If you already know the schedule and are confident with whats expected then why give ££££££££ to some college/provider.

Lee

in defence of the training provider

please bear in mind that not all candidates are the same as the guy you intend to send

the course work its alot for candidates to take in 4 days, legislation, practical maintenance & then the tree felling itself & the provider must aim the course at all skill, knowledge & ability levels.

as the person footing the bill = you , is it better to cram it into one course & have your guy fail & then pay for a re assessment ?
